Who We Are
Our mission is to connect Texas Contractors, increase safety and advocate our common issues in Austin.
UCATX is the only state-wide trade association dedicated solely to the utility and excavation construction industry. We offer our members the opportunity to build relationships, create unique business opportunities, stay up-to-date on the latest industry news, and participate in shaping industry-related legislation.
We welcome prospective members at events throughout the year.
Our History
In 2025, Utility Contractors Association of Texas was formed but our roots are deep, dating back to the 1970s.
In 2016, Texas re-chartered at a national convention to stand independent from "Heavy Highway." Contractors from across the state who had previously participated through national and regional groups came together under a unified Texas-focused organization.
Today the Utility Contractors Association of Texas and its Chapters represent the interests of over 210 member companies on a spectrum of issues which matter most to the underground utility and excavation industry right here in Texas.
We represent utility contractors, excavators, suppliers, manufacturers, and other providers in the water, sewer, gas, electric, telecommunications, treatment plant, and excavation industries. UCATX is a leading organization focused on advancing the welfare, profitability, and improvement of the underground contractor industry with a Texas-centered perspective.
